Last week I just picked up a restoration job for a local
elderly couple. It is a Spanish rococo Cable-Nelson baby
grand with a simplex/recordo player mechanism. Of all the
player grands I've seen, this is very unusual. With the
exception of the pump, the entire player mechanism and
expression controls are all incorporated into the drawer.
An arrangement of hinged rods makes it possible for the
player action to work regardless of where the drawer is
positioned. Two questions my customers have, which I need
to put out, are: (1) Is anybody recutting Recordo rolls,
and (2) Is there a electronic/pneumatic interface available
for the Disklavier system? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
