I saw a machine like this a few years ago in a player piano store
in a suburb of Marietta, Georgia, or thereabouts. The "radio set" was
housed in an extension of the upper piano case, and the separate
loudspeaker (with electro-magnet) sat upon the lid of the piano.
The player may have had a version of the Recordo expression system,
and it featured a spring-motor, kept wound by a linkage to the foot
pedals. The shop owner proudly pointed out the "QRS Red Top" vacuum
tubes in the radio! I'm sorry I don't remember the make of the radio;
the player was a Melville Clark, I think.
