Self-Playing Piano at Mortuary
By Robert Linnstaedt

At a local funeral home, I was enjoying the very fine piano playing for a wake. There was a handsome young fellow seated at the keyboard and the grand piano was located behind me. I assumed he was playing it until he got up and started acting as usher while the piano kept playing. After the service I asked him about the piano and it was equipped with Disklavier. He and the home are quite proud of their investment. Can't help but think of the starving pianists, who are so poorly paid already.
