Introduction
By Del Lohuis

You will recall that our daughter Ardyth<alohuid@felix.vcu.edu>has been a subscriber since Jan 1. She has been forwarding the Digests to me. I have decided that I would like to be a subscriber and offer the following bio for you:

Hello from Del Lohuis-

I live in Roswell, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. My wife Carol and I have have been collectors of automatic musical instruments since 1968. We are members of MBSI, AMICA, and the Reed Organ Society. We have a modest sized collection of cylinder and disc music boxes, paper roll played organettes, reed organs and three reproducing pianos.

My e-mail address is

     "Delmont J. Lohuis" <102745.2663@compuserve.com>

[which may also be written as]

     102745.2663@compuserve.com (Del Lohuis)

[or just]

     102745.2663@compuserve.com

I would like to have sent to me, a number of the Automatic Music Digests which were distributed before our daughter became a member. I am uncertain whether I can request them directly through the "anonymous FTP" server, since I am not connected directly to the Internet, only through Compuserve. (I do have a hard copy listing of the Digests distributed in 1995.)

I have read the Digests distributed since Jan. 1 with a great deal of interest. Thank you for the very great amount of time you have devoted to editing and sending the Digests.

[ Editor's Note: Del, welcome aboard. I think that Compuserve will allow
[ you to FTP the files in our digest. You (and anyone else interested) may
[ retrieve them from:
[
[ ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/digests
[
[ or you may access zipped versions of these from:
[
[ ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/digests.dos
[
[ If you would like the back-issues mailed, I'll do that -- its no problem.
[ However, at one time Compuserve used to charge for incoming Internet mail.
[ I don't think they do this any more, but be aware that the 1995 digests
[ contain 42,000 lines of text totaling about 1.7 Meg. Before I send that
[ much to anyone I want to double check that that is really what you intend.
[ Please send confirmation to: rollreq@foxtail.com
[ Thanks
[ Jody
