Popper Konzertist
By Philip Jamison

I got my Popper yesterday! It's a "Welt-Piano Konzertist", according to the fallboard (see Bowers pg. 588, lower right). It's a piano with percussion mounted atop. To restore it, could anyone help me with a few question I have?

1) Any advice on how to restore the valves? These are curious; rather like AMPICO unit valves, but aluminum (?) "cans" with adjustable top seat.

2) What size/speed/pulley size was original motor? Mine's going awfully fast!

3) Any source for replacement beaded lamps for the front?

4) What type of roll did this piano use? I have a few, but they only list the tunes.

I'll share what I learn with the list. Thanks!
