Re: Refitting AMPICO Action Stack (960727)
By Robbie Rhodes

I installed a Chickering B action into my late Weber B piano. The most vexing task was making new mounting fixtures. When I rebuilt the Chickering pneumatics I relocated the strikers to align with the piano keys. It was necessary to move a few pneumatics and valves slightly, to correspond with the different gap between the tenor and bass, etc. It was easy to drive the plug in the windway (which separates the bass and treble portions of the stack) into a new position to match the E/F split point of the Weber.
