Janice and Denny Hess' Lauter Piano (96.09.16)

A buddy of mine, Pete Cardone, recently purchased a Lauter Humana on which I did some minor repairs. I was very impressed with the player action. This thing has separate valves for each note that are held to the stacks with two screws, permitting anything to be repaired without taking the whole thing apart! The valve blocks are wood and can be easily taken apart for repairs or plastic replacements are available. Generally, Pete's piano only suffered from loose screws in everything. As all the valves are simply screwed together with gaskets, simply tightening the valve screws and the screws covering all the parts of the pump tightened the piano up substantially. I hope yours can be helped with such simple work. The Lauter is nice; the spool box even folds out to permit access for tuning.
