So far all I've been able to do with these "late-model" (1926)
Gulbransen Unit-Pnematics is DESTROY THEM! The fixed board is very
thin, maybe 3/16", and the old hide glue is incredible. I made a
hardwood jig to support the fixed board and tried to drive the pouch
block off and finally broke the epoxy on my jig. I can break the fixed
boards off in splinters (don't ask how I know), but I'd sure like to
find a better solution. I tried microwaving one for about 30 seconds.
No help. Should I cook them longer? steam them? (Reblitz doesn't like
moisture.)
Anyone have any ideas?
