Re: Bridge Repairs

Craig, I recently ran into one of those 1% of pianos in which the bass bridge is still firmly glued to the soundboard yet has to be replaced because of a 'zipper' crack along the bridge pins. This particular bridge is not cantilevered - it mounts directly on the soundboard in 4 locations (it has arched reliefs inbetween the glued on areas. I have removed the screws and have tried a little vinegar in water solution applied to the joint with no positive results. Any ideas on how to go about this without damaging the soundboard?
