Nickelodeon Recordings
By Damon Atchison

Dear All,

I LOVE the sound of a nickelodeon, so does anyone know where I can get a CD of one? I know there are carosel songs and band organ songs on CD, but I want a coin operated nickleodeon.

[ Editor's note:
[
[ Harvey Roehl sent me a copy of a new CD a couple of months
[ ago titled "Roadhouse Razzmatazz", played on the Wurlitzer CX.
[ This CD will probably fit the bill. In fact, the first cut
[ on the CD includes the sound of the coin dropping through
[ the coin mechanism. There's 25 tunes, including Jazz, Blues,
[ Vaudeville songs, Rags, Marches, One Steps and Two Steps. The
[ Wurlitzer CX was in great condition when the recordings were made,
[ and I understand enough material was recorded for a second album
[ should the first one sell well. I found the microphone placement
[ such that the drum was too "boomy", but thats about the only
[ complaint. Stock Number MRR 1040.
