NAPLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1997--QRS Music Inc.

("QRS") announced sales of $1,997,492 and operating income of $82,141,
or $.008 per share for the three month period ended March 31, 1997.

On July 24, 1996, QRS Pianos Inc. merged the The Geneva American Group
Inc. ("Geneva"). Therefore, the joint company, QRS Music Inc., has no
historical results of operations. However, the predecessor companies
results of operations are reported for the period ended March 31, 1996.
QRS Pianos Inc. had sales and operating income of $1,362,590 and a net
loss of $27,323 and Geneva has sales and operating income of $662 with
a net loss of $3,583.

Richard A. Dolan, QRS president, said the increase in revenues was the
result of a broader product line. The increase in sales was mainly
attributable to increased demand for Pianomation(TM) systems. The
increase in sales does not include revenues from the newly introduced
digital line of products which is expected to begin shipping in the
second quarter of this year.

In January, Baldwin Piano & Organ Company (NASDAQ:BPAO) and QRS signed a
multi-year agreement whereby QRS will supply piano playback components
to be used in Baldwin's exclusive player piano system, ConcertMaster(TM).
Last week, Baldwin placed an initial million dollar order for piano
playback components.

Last week, the company received a $1.5 million loan from the First
National Bank of Chicago. Proceeds of the loan will be used for new
facilities, inventory and debt consolidation. Terms of the loan were
not disclosed.

Construction has begun at Story & Clark to build a 13,000 square foot
addition to the main 26,000 square foot facility in Seneca, Pa.
Increased production of the new Hampton grand piano line and the assembly
and distribution of the QRS Pianomation(TM) system (from the Florida
plant to Seneca), required the additional space. The company expects
certain operational efficiencies from the additional space. Construction
has begun and occupancy is expected during the third quarter.

The QRS Pianomation(TM) system can turn any piano into a reproducing
player piano. A patented hardware and software process can store and
transport Musical Instrument Digital Interface ("MIDI") information as
an analog signal. This process gives QRS the ability to store, and
wirelessly transmit, MIDI performance data in an analog format from a
controller (CD, video, cassette, DAT or Minidisc) to the receiver on the
piano.

This creates numerous possibilities. For example, most off-the-shelf
audio equipment has a left and right channel available for use. State of
the art technology permits QRS to store the digital signal in an analog
format on the left channel of the software which operates those players.
This leaves the right channel available for live prerecorded audio music,
even vocal recordings. Pianomation(TM) blends them together in perfect
harmony and perfect synchronization. The Pianomation(TM) MIDI System is
the first product of its kind to "marry" analog and digital technology.

In 1992, QRS acquired Classic Player Piano Inc., the last of the
remaining manufacturers of player pianos, whose products are marketed
under the Story & Clark name. The acquisition brought QRS back to its
corporate roots. Its founder, Melville Clark, who founded QRS in 1900,
was also one of the original owners of the company that became Story &
Clark. Both player and acoustic pianos are manufactured under the Story
& Clark name. QRS has facilities in Buffalo, N.Y.; Naples, Fla.; and
Seneca, Pa.

QRS' extensive catalog collection of traditional piano rolls for player
pianos is the largest in the world. Those player piano rolls captured
the key movement and timing of the artist. Composers and original
artists who have recorded on QRS rolls include: George Gershwin,
Liberace, Ferrante & Teicher, Peter Nero, George Shearing, Roger Williams
and many others. These classics are being republished in a CD format.

QRS Music's World Wide Web site is http://www.QRSMusic.com. Sample audio
selections are available. QRS is also on America On Line (Keyword: QRS).
QRS Music Inc. stock is traded on the NASD Electronic Bulletin Board
market system with the symbol QRSM.
