Roll Exchange Advert Service
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All you roll collectors/dealers, Here is a very common type of
request that I get almost daily:

> My daughter and her husband have come into possession (thru inheri-
> tance) of a number of piano rolls, and they are seeking info on a
> place (or places) to sell them. Some are performed by George
> Gershwin, a couple by Ignace Paderewski and many other golden oldies.
> You seem to be knowledgeable about player pianos, so I'm hoping you
> can help us out. We're in the Milwaukee area.

> Please send e-mail reply to: A2nerjohn@aol.com Thanks.

As many of you know, I do not collect or buy used rolls but in an effort
to help those looking to sell, I would like to incorporate another page
into my web site expressly for that purpose.

What I will do is create a page with a listing of individuals who are
involved in buying (and/or selling) used rolls, along with a treatise
about how to determine what is worth keeping and the steps required to
actually make the sale. Since there have been numerous articles in the
Digest about used rolls and their potential value, I am hoping the list
will include all interested members. If there are specific types of rolls
that you are interested in, please specify.

As usual, there will be no charges for this service because, quite
frankly, I'm hoping it will reduce the number of letters I have to write,
explaining that I'm really not involved. (I don't like to just put people
off because I don't have accurate information.) And who knows, some of
you may actually come across some very unique rolls that have been
collecting dust for the past 60 years.

Finally, if you can help these folks (above), please write.

Musically,
John A. Tuttle
