Music Box Scales
By Mike Knudsen

Hats off to Christian Greinacher and anyone else who can do teeth
replacement, disk or cylinder!

There is a book, "Treasures of Mechanical Music", by either Bowers or
Ord-Hume, with extensive listings of scales for disk musical boxes. I
know the 12" Symphonion and 15" Regina are in there among many others.

I hope your Kalliope is not as complex as some Symphonions, which have
separate combs on either side of the disk center, with similar but NOT
identical scales. Some notes are duplicates for sublime harmonie and
accents, while others are odd chromatic notes not found in the other
comb.

If all else fails you can use trial and error, retuning an unknown
tooth by a semitone.
