Announcement: End-of-Year Fundraising Drive In Progress

Our End-Of-Year Fundraising drive is in progress. If you haven't contributed to the operation of the MMD in the last 12 months, this would be a great time to contribute. There's a PayPal link at the bottom of each page on the website.

If you aren't sure when you last contributed, please send me a note using the contact form at the bottom of this page and I'll look you up in my records.

Thank you for your generous support!
Jody

P.S. While your support is needed and appreciated, you do not need to contribute to be a subscriber. If you have subscribed and aren't receiving your Digest, please use the contact form at the bottom of the page and let me know. Thanks!

Re-publication of MMD Articles
By Gerry Bay

I recently received my copy of the MBSI Journal and, as I leafed
through it, I was rather surprised to see my name in print as the
author of a one-column report on the Murphy auction! The report was
identical to the report I posted in MMD.

I have no idea how this happened. I thought my post was to my fellow
MMD'ers. No one asked me if it would be okay to use it in the Journal.
(It would have been but I might have changed a few editorial comments!)

So, just a note to all of you that you should carefully think about
what you put in a post, since it is clear that your words could pop up
most anywhere.

Gerry Bay

 [ Editor's note:
 [
[ Your article, "Prices at Murphy Auction, Louisville KY", was
[ published in Digest 980405. I'm sorry that it was reprinted
[ elsewhere without consent from you and MMD. Jody will ask the
[ MBSI Publications Committee about it.
 [
[ However, I hope this doesn't discourage our authors from writing.
[ Any newsletter or bulletin is subject to plagiarism: it's a fact
[ of life -- especially on the Internet -- and might be considered a
[ compliment. The US Copyright Laws exist to defend your works.
