'The Jelly Roll Blues'
By John McClelland

I found an old QRS roll #32351 The Jelly Roll Blues (The Original Jelly
Roll), played (or written) by Fred Morton.

Now I know that Jelly Roll Morton wrote the tune, but did he hand play
this particular roll? I was only aware of him making some VocalStyle(?)
hand played rolls. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

John McClelland

[ Jelly recorded at least two songs at QRS in Oct 1926 (#3674 & 3675),
[ and 'Jelly Roll Blues' on VocalStyle 50505 in Nov 1924. Does the
[ QRS Rollography by Bob & Ginny Billings give a clue about QRS 32351?
[ I don't have this fine reference book. -- Robbie
