Cleaning Dry Powder from the Piano
By Jeffrey Borinsky

To misquote Lewis Carroll: "A thousand maids with a thousand
vacuum cleaners......"

My school chemistry teacher once taught our class about dealing with
small fires in the lab. His advice was always to use the carbon
dioxide extinguishers since it would take years to remove all the dry
powder from everywhere. He may have made the misquote too.

Further advice was that if it looked like you needed the water or foam
extinguishers then the fire was to big to tackle yourself so call 999
(UK 999 = US 911 = Europe 112).

Good luck with the cleanup.

Jeffrey Borinsky
