Cast Aluminum Regina Music Box
By Keith Merchant

Hi All, I have repaired a few music boxes, but I just got in for
repairs a 15-1/2-inch short-bed Regina with no serial number that
I have never seen before.

Everything that should be cast iron is cast aluminum. All the gears
are aluminum instead of steel; the mainspring housing and the bull gear
on the mainspring housing are aluminum. Even the bed plate.

Did Regina put these out at the end of production to keep the cost down,
or what ? Thanks for your help.

Bye for now

Keith Merchant
