Parts and Info for Conn Organ
By Larry Toto

Jim Hendershot, I have a Conn Artist, dual manual, console organ that
I picked up at auction a number of years ago ($5.00). Each vacuum tube
controls two notes and it is tuned using screws that squeeze inductor
coils. My unit is missing the pedals and was in pretty sad shape,
looking like it sat in an outdoor shed somewhere because it had sticks
and leaves blown in through the swell pedals in the base. Some of the
veneer is broken off.

I piped the output signal to my guitar amp and it plays, but I think
the impedance of the organ output and the amp input were mismatched
because the volume of the notes trailed off as I played higher
frequency notes.

I have thought about rebuilding it and obtained schematics about 15 years
ago. I think I still have them somewhere. I will do a search and let
you know what I come up with. Maybe they can be helpful to you, though
I do not know which model of Conn you have. I cannot remember where I
found the schematics, but I will see if I can't come up with that as well.
