Introduction
By Allen Moe

Hi,

I just joined the mailing list at the beginning of October. I am hoping
that someone can help me locate some rolls and or a tracker bar scale
that will operate a 'Smith Unit Organ' roll player. I have one roll
entitled 'Miss Liberty March' but I would like to find more. The
original owners of the machine stated that they had about 250 rolls
for it, but after the organ had been silent for a number of years they
decided to do away with the rolls. To my utter astonishment I was
told that they had burned all of them! The one that I have survived
because it was in the machine.

The roll appears to play the lowest 12 notes of the pedalboard, the
lowest 44 notes of one keyboard, and the top 44 notes of another
keyboard. It also has around 15 tracks near the center of the roll
for stop changes as well as several tracks along each side that deal
with expression. Any information that can be provided would be greatly
appreciated.

Jody told me to list some info about myself, so here goes.

I am the assistant to the plant manager at the Wicks pipe organ company
of Highland, IL. In my spare time I enjoy doing restorations of player
pianos and reed organs as well as many other musical instruments. My
personal collection, though small, includes an H.C.Bay 88 note upright
player, a 2 manual and pedal 12 rank Lyon and Healy reed organ, an
Estey 10 rank parlor reed organ, a Brambach Grand in which I am
installing a QRS PianoMation MIDI system (similar to Disklavier), and
a 14 rank Wicks pipe organ which is what the player is for.
