Calliope Blowers
By J. L. Stubbs

Hello, To those fellows looking for a blower, you might also keep an
eye out for junkyards that specialize in older semi trucks.

The hot-rodding crowd obtained the units from old GMC semi trucks.
The 6-71 and 4-71 models were used extensively for drag racing in the
1950's and 60's. When the vanes wore down they usually trashed the
whole unit.

Nowadays they are built by specialty manufacturers who have designed
the vanes with replaceable slide-in pieces (kind of like windshield
wipers). Hope this is of some assistance.
