Proposal for Shortened Ampico Roll Numbers
By Dave Saul

Regarding shortening roll numbers by dropping the last digit -- I can't
believe anyone would seriously consider that, if for no other reason
than a person purchasing rolls from a list needs the last digit to see
if he or she can expect to be getting a small or large roll.

Moreover, any change to the factory number would render it non-
original. Does the author of this proposal advocate a second edition
of the Obenchain Ampico rollography with all the numbers shortened?
Then perhaps burning all the existing copies? Why not just assign
all new numbers and _really_ confuse the situation!
