Chinese-Made Music Box Plays Cardboard Roll
By Bob Loesch

This box is a true musical box, with a comb, operated by a star-wheel.
My dear wife bought me one of those for Christmas, although she con-
fessed that she had bought it before Thanksgiving because they sell out
so fast. The cardboard book will indeed jam, but is easy to un-jam,
and after watching it run for a little while, a permanent fix appears
to be simple.

I've an identical movement that I bought last summer from Nancy Fratti
(Thanks, Nancy!), that came with some blank books and a punch. Neat
toy, and an all-around nice box, despite its "Made In China" label.

Actually, the movement is a Sankyo, made in Japan, and has quite nice
tone. If anyone sees one of those, it would be nice to pick up to give
the kids and/or grandkids a chance to actually _see_ how a book-played
music box works.
