Hi, Can I put in my two cents worth on this controversy?  I have seen
far too many recently-done box pumps with failed rubber cloth on them.

Certainly leather is not as air-tight as rubber cloth is (at first),
but after 4 or 5 years of regular playing I guarantee it will be.
