Reroll Pneumatic in PPCo. Full Automation Kit
By Larry Norman

Hi all, To reply to Sam Harris on the PPCo rewind pneumatic,
I just rebuilt a Kurtzman with a Standard player in it for an elderly
lady and, feeling that she would not be able to foot-pump her player,
I installed the electric pump and put in the rewind pneumatic.

What I ran into was that it did not want to go into rewind unless I had
more vacuum, making it play too loud. However, if I pulled the hose
off the tracker bar to the rewind pneumatic it would go into rewind
just fine. I came to the conclusion that the orifice of the tracker
bar was too small for the pneumatic to operate.

What I did was sacrifice two playing notes for the rewind and it works
just fine every time. So try pulling off the neoprene tube to the
rewind pneumatic and if it works fine just sacrifice another note, or
I guess you could make the note hole in the tracker bar a bit bigger.
Musically yours

Larry Norman

[ That sounds like the bleed in the PPCo valve is too large for the
[ small flow through the tracker bar. Was the valve perhaps designed
 [ for a different purpose? -- Robbie
