Joke Book with Minstrel Roll?

An acquaintance of mine in Canada has a "Vocalstyle Home Minstrel
Series" No. 12356, Series NO. 6 piano roll, arranged by
Macelroy & Furlong.

It is suspected that it originally came with a show book, as the roll
lyrics make mention of something to the effect of "(Read Joke #3 now)".
Is there anyone who can shed some light on this artifact and if indeed
there was a book that originally accompanied it?
