Seek Pedals for Prince Melodeon
By Christian Greinacher

I am restoring a small reed organ, built by Prince and Co, Buffalo NY,
in the 1850th. The instrument is labeled " No. 20,522 / IMPROVED
MELODEON / MANUFACTURED BY / PRINCE & CO / PATENTED, DEC. 28th, 1846 ".
The instrument which I have is a small melodeon with the wooden lyre
legs on each side.

I have a book " HORTON PRESLEY : Restoring & collecting Antique Reed
Organs ". Fig. 1-2 and Fig. 21-1 in this book are showing instruments
of the authors collection looking most similar to mine.

Unfortunately the pedals are missing. As far as I could find out from
the pictures in the book of Horton Presley I need three parts:
    1. The pump pedal
    2. The swell pedal
    3. The "hinge" which is screwed to the horizontal wooden part
between the two legs and onto which the two pedals have to
       be fixed.

Could anybody tell me where I could get these missing parts from, either
as originals or as replicas? What would be the approximate price? I
would appreciate any hint!

Christian
