Gay '90s Village "Nickel Music" Recordings
By Andrew Barrett

Hello Everyone. In response to Mr. Inzero's posting: I happened to
have my "Player Piano Treasury" book handy, so I opened it to the page
that showed Mr. Eakin's collection. I think I can identify just about
all the instruments described, even though I don't have the record.

The Encore Banjo is what they say it is (of course!), the "Wurlitzer
Fascinator" is either a CX-B or an LX with a wonder light or "fascin-
ator", the Coinola is a CO. I'm not sure about the "Eakins Special"
build-up, but I think he built a case extension on a Reproduco organ,
and robbed (or made himself) the percussion, and converted the whole
thing to use "O" rolls (the pipe and keyboard counts are the same as
the Reproduco).

The "Red" KT Special is probably a KT Special with a red light over
the drums. As to the "Memory Lane special," I have no clue. Hope
this helps.

Sincerely,

Andrew Barrett
