Good Player, Bad Piano
By Bob Conant

Todd, In the discussion about your piano on the MMD, you said the
player was a Simplex but there was no discussion about the piano
itself. In my meager experience, I have found that generally the
pianos with Simplexes in them were all pretty good pianos, no real
junkers. I say this just to lend further support to having done or
doing any necessary piano rebuild work on the piano you have rather
than trying to jack up the player and drive a different piano under it.

Simplex actions, when rebuilt properly, are a very good player, so
stick with what you have and do what needs to be done to restore it.

Just my opinion,

Bob Conant
