Reuge 'Lipstick Case' Music Box
By Beatrice Robertson

Dear Lynn, Look carefully at the label again, and I believe you will
find that it say "Reuge" instead of Reuse.

Reuge is a very large maker of music box mechanisms in Ste. Croix,
Switzerland, but often the cases are made elsewhere. The music box you
have is usually called a Lipstick Case, although the earliest boxes of
this type -- with the little doors that open -- were cigar holders, and
made of wood. This type of music box has been made for well over a
hundred years. The type of ceramic lipstick case music box that you
describe is not uncommon, and in fact, may still be made.
