Mills Ferris Wheel Phonograph
By Al Menashe

The Mills was an excellent example in the evolution of the automatic
musical instrument. The Ferris wheel mechanism was used on at least
a dozen models. Mine is the 1937 Zephyr.

The Pfansteil PDN is the best needle to use in the original cartridge,
it is easy on the records and sounds great, but a better option is to
balance the tone-arm and install an Astatic 51-2. That way you can
play the new vinyl 78s with all the great 50s and 60's rock and roll.

You might want to checkout the Jukebox newsgroup. They are mostly
newbies that buy 70's stuff, but there are also some old time pros who
can give you a wealth of knowledge.
