Confutatis Maledictis Microsoftus
By D. L. Bullock

Music in Microsoft ad

I thought there might be enough church musicians here to appreciate
the humor in this. It is an interesting TV ad you might look for.

The classical music-minded among us may have noticed a new TV ad for
Microsoft's Internet Explorer software that uses the music of the
"Confutatis Maledictis" from Mozart's Requiem.

"Where do you want to go today?" is the cheery line on the screen,
while the chorus sings "Confutatis maledictis, flammis acribus
addictis..."

The translation: "The damned and accursed are convicted to the flames
of Hell."
