Music Roll Recutting Projects
By Dick Hack

Hack Mechanical Music Update

  Wurlitzer Harp Valves:

I am having a one-time order placed, within the next two weeks, for the
original style rubber valves and seats for the Wurlitzer Harp. These
valves and seats are identical replacements for original A and B style
harps, and the George Baker reproductions. If you need these parts,
or want spares for an older set, please contact me as soon as possible.
Minimum order requirements would make ordering a single set at a later
date impractical if not impossible.

  Wurlitzer Harp Rolls:

I am moving forward on the Wurlitzer Harp roll project. It is my
intention to recut from the original factory masters (which do exist)
many rolls that have not survived. There will be rags, classical, and
other popular music of the day. The project will probably consist of
a set of about 30 rolls, in deluxe boxes, and with tune cards. This
project is scheduled for late 2000 or early 2001.

  Aeolian 116-Note Rolls:

I have been offered the use of a collection of over 450 original
116-note Aeolian pipe organ (and Solo Orchestrelle) rolls. Since my
last posting on this subject, there has been enough excitement for these
rolls that I hope to start recutting them in about two months, just as
soon as the 176-note rolls are completed. The set will consist of 200
rolls, picked by a poll of the project subscribers from the list. This
will be a one-time project of only 18 of these 200 roll sets.

  Pianolin Rolls:

Pianolin rolls will be recut early 2001. There will be two
different sets of 30 rolls each.

  Regina Sublima Rolls:

We are temporarily sold out of all Regina Sublima rolls. We will
resume recutting of these rolls before the end of the year.

  North Tonawanda, Artizan, and B.A.B.:

I have had some interest in this 8/inch format, but not yet enough to
schedule a project. Please notify me as soon as possible if you want
recuts of any of these very rare formats.

  Mills Violano:

We have just recut over 300 rolls to replenish our inventory. A list
of rolls is available which includes many new numbers.

With the exception of Mills and Sublima rolls, which are stocked, these
projects are by subscription only. Please call if you have any
questions.

Thank you!
