Edison Phonograph Stylus Replacement
By Wayne Finger

I am replacing the broken stylus in an Edison Amberola 30. It probably
makes more sense to mail it off to be rebuilt, but where is the fun in
that? So here is my question, "What is the best way to get the old
stylus out of its little brass cross shaped holder?"

It appears to be pressed or soldered into a brass holder which pivots
on the bottom of the reproducer weight. I've thought about heating it
with a torch, pressing it out through the little hole in the back or
drilling it out. Before doing any of these, and maybe breaking the
little brass stylus holder, I figured it would be prudent to ask MMD.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Wayne Finger
