Ruth Organ at Myrtle Beach Pavilion FL
By Hans van Oost

Bill Griswold wrote in 000822 MMD, "The Baden Ruth Organ is sounding
a little better than last year. This year marks its 100th birthday."

According to the sales register of the Ruth factory, the Style 38
Ruth organ now at Myrtle Beach Pavilion was sold new to Mr. Hirsch
in Germany, in August 1906. The Ruth register number is 1094 (that
is not the production number!).

So the old lady will have to wait for six more years before she will
reach her 100th birthday. I hope that a proper restoring job of both
the organ and the music will be done by then. That would be some
birthday present!

Best regards,

Hans van Oost, Kring van Draaiorgelvrienden, Netherlands
