Mechanical Music in "Under Milk Wood"
By Jeffrey Borinsky

I am reading "Under Milk Wood" by Dylan Thomas for the first time
since leaving school.

Mr Waldo, something of an unreformed character, is the subject of
gossip between the neighbours. This includes the lines:

   "What he'll do for drink"
   "He sold the pianola"
   "And her sewing machine"

Try to get to hear a recording of the original 1954 BBC broadcast
starring Richard Burton. Magical.
