Rolls Looking for a Good Home
By Bill Jelen

Several years ago, I bought a player piano, but had no rolls.
Initially, I was eager to build a roll collection and bought a few
collections. As time went on, I had plenty rolls but found myself
buying several collections of rolls just in order to keep them from
hitting the landfill. Now, I find myself with more rolls than I could
ever play in a lifetime.

I would like to get rid of all the rolls which do not currently fit in
my roll cabinet. I was tempted to list them on e-bay, but I am not
willing to go through the hassle of producing a catalog, and shipping
small lots of rolls all over.

I would like to find these rolls a good home. Ideally, this would be
someone who has a new (to them) player piano and is in the process of
building a collection of rolls. If this is you, consider one of the
following options.

Offer #1: If you are within driving distance of Akron, Ohio, you can
come over and take home a box of 50 rolls for free.

Offer #2: If there are still rolls left after any takers from the
above, I will consider shipping rolls. If you are not within driving
distance, but feel you would qualify as a good home, I will pack and
ship a selection of 50 rolls to any U.S. address for $50. I figure this
would just about cover the fees at the local Pack-N-Ship store.

Please - no antique dealers. These are just average rolls. It is very
unlikely that there are any rags, blues, or rare rolls in the boxes. It
will just be a collection of fox trots, waltzes, songs, Hawaiian, etc.
The assortment of 50 rolls will be selected at random. They are in
boxes, but some may need new end tabs, leaders, etc. etc. I can not
provide a list in advance.
