Reproducing Piano in California Gold Country
By Jim Terra

This is one for all the amateur detectives out there. Back (!) in
the 1970's I was doing some motorcycle touring in the California gold
country along Highway 49. I stopped in a small village and, just out
of curiosity, asked a local merchant if he knew anyone in the area with
a player piano. He told me an address, that I went to, and the
proverbial little old lady came to the door.

The player in her parlour was a reproducing grand; it had a Spanish
style shawl covering it and had been kept out of the sun so that the
case finish had no foxing. With my car hundreds of miles away, I sadly
took my leave.

The question is, does anyone out there in player land have any info
regarding this piano? Just thought that I would throw this one into
the arena.

Cheers

Jim Terra
