The Fascinations of Mechanical Music
By Bryan Cather

Hats off to Matthew Caulfield [010602 MMDigest]. His remarks about
the reasons for being in our hobby were _very_ well thought out,
he effectively and eloquently presented his opinions, and he left
room for those of others.

His are the type of posts I enjoy reading, rather than the occasional
less-than-genial disagreements that, sadly, have infected the MMD in
the past. I would never suggest that we should ever all agree on any
given point, but Matthew has demonstrated that a differing opinion can
be presented in such a way that everyone benefits. Matthew Caulfield
has the respect of at least one MMDer.
