FS: 9-Rank Pipe Organ in Baltimore, MD
By Mark West

Friends need to find good home for a compact little Voteller Holtkamp &
Sparling pipe organ, circa 1910, which I rescued some years ago. It's
in good shape, unrestored, carefully packed and in easily accessible
storage in Baltimore, Maryland.

All manual pipe work fits inside 2 swell boxes that mount on tops of
each chest and are 7'8" high. The 5-rank swell box and chest are 3'
by 7' with center access door and shutters on front. The swell box was
installed against a wall so it has no back panel. The 4-rank great is
on a chest 30" wide x 7' with shades on front and a access door at the
back center. Pedal is on two chests 7'2" x 9" and 6'5" x 9"; has leb.
ged. action for ped. 16' f. and ped. 16' mp.

Chests are about 12" deep with a center ventil hanging below. They
could be set as low as 18" from the floor which would give a height
of approx. 10' from the floor to the very top of the swell enclosures.
Primaries extend 8" outside the swell boxes.

Swell has: stopped diap. 8', open flute 8', salic, 8', flute 4" and a
nice vox in a box. Great has: an open diap.8', flute M. 8', violin 4",
gamba 8' which has a slider action to play an octave higher. The
slider opens windways with individual screws. The blower is an antique
treasure with a snail type housing very beautifully crafted from wood.
Blower has silencer box.

Roosevelt style electro-pneumatic action ventil chests with frog mouth
pneumatics for each note; the swell shades are mechanical. The console
was built into a wall, has 3 mechanical pistons for each division.

Stops as follows: SWELL: sw. to sw, 16" sw, 8' off, sw. to sw. 4',
flute 4' M, viol 8' M, flute 8' M.F., diap. 8' reed, 8' sw. trem.
PEDAL: 16" fl. M.P., 16' fl. M.F., swell 8' to pedal. GREAT: 8' diap.
F.F., 8' flute M., 8' flute M.P., 4' vl. M.P., 8' vl. P., gr. 8' off.
sw. to gr. 16', sw. to gr. 8', sw to gr. 4'.

The organ came from a church on Euclid Ave at about 120th St. The
organ never had a player attachment. We want to preserve this organ
and will not break it up!

The owner is asking for $1200 to help with expenses for pipe trays,
truck rental and moving helpers. The pipe work is high quality and
in good shape. All leather will need to be replaced. The organ is
complete with all reservoirs, tremolos, etc. All pipework is complete,
with 61 pipes in each of the 9 manual ranks and 32 pipes for the pedal.

This is about all the information I am able to provide. If you are
interested in _acquiring_ the instrument please contact the seller,
