Seek Unified Reproduco Rolls
By Jack M. Conway

After the discussion recently of Seeburg MO and MSR rolls I wonder
if there might be any Unified Reproduco rolls out there for sale?
They were cut by Capitol Music Roll Company, on gray paper, are
15-1/4 inches wide, cut nine holes to the inch, multi tune, and are
mounted on 2-1/2 inch ID cores.

I might also be interested in Unified Funeral Organ rolls. They are
similar but single tune rolls mounted on standard diameter piano roll
cores with flanges. I would also be interested in any previously
unpublished information on Unified Reproduco Organs and any roll lists.

I would be interested hearing from anyone who has a Unified Reproduco
Organ still set up to play Unified Reproduco rolls. In California I
have heard of three other Reproduco Organs. Two of them have been
converted to play other roll formats and the third is a Unified Funeral
Organ which plays the single tune rolls. The Unified Funeral Organ
roll box has no provision for playing the multi-tune rolls.

When I purchased the organ it was sold as coming with six rolls. It
turned out to be two Unified Reproduco rolls and four Seeburg MO rolls.
It has been very difficult to find Unified Reproduco rolls. For nine
years after I purchased the organ I found only two rolls. Then Larry
Norman called and provided me with 20 plus rolls.

Another member of MMD was offered a cache of 200 Unified Reproduco
rolls with cabinet. After two years, however, the seller never provided
a single roll.

Thanks,
Jack M. Conway, Los Angeles, California, USA
