MAPSA Movement Plays "Die Forelle"
By Don Cox

[ Robbie remarked, in 030104 MMDigest: ]

>[ "In a clear brooklet, with happy haste, a capricious trout

Schubert re-used the tune in the fourth movement of his "Trout"
Quintet for piano and strings, which is probably his most popular work.
There are dozens of recordings, including two particularly beautiful
ones with Clifford Curzon on the piano; one CD is called "Schubert
Masterworks Vol 2. (Curzon could always be relied on to give an
outstanding performance.)

I remember a very nice recording of the song by Gerard Sousay.

Regards
Don Cox
