Repair of 1947 Conover Cable Piano
By Donald Dusenbury

The Conover Cable Piano of this period are good instruments. Conover
sold many instruments in the Northeast from 1920 to 1958. Most of the
action flanges (wippen, hammer, jack, damper) were plastic.

In the late 1960s and early 70s I did many complete replacement jobs
on these console pianos. These parts are available in wood. If the
jack and flange is plastic these should be replaced.

The cost for replacing the set of flanges (wippen, damper, hammer)
is $300 to $400 plus parts. The job entails re-pinning 264 flanges.
If the jack and flange need replacing also then this adds $120 plus
parts. I am not far from Cincinnati and can do the job if you need
this work.

Hope this helped
