Source of Brass Tees
By Spencer Chase

Greetings. I have spent countless hours trying to find full bore tube
tees for use with our MIDI valve system (The E-Roll Player), with no
success. I checked all the obvious leads and many others. Even the
full bore thin walled plastic tees that PPCo used to have are no longer
available.

There are three options available today. You can make your own if you
only need a small quantity. It is really pretty easy but gets very
very boring after about 50. I know, I have made a couple hundred.

Use plastic medical grade tees or wyes from Value Plastic. You can
find them on the web with Google. Their products are perfect but the
ID to OD ratio is not as good as with thin wall brass tubing. They
have a line with a very slight barb that is less likely to split rubber
tubing over time. You can also use these fittings with the tubing for
which it was designed and this will not split. A soft urethane can be
gotten in black and will look almost original. You can also use
silicone if you can afford it and you want it to last forever

Brass tees are available for pneumatic systems including three leg
standard tees and threaded ones with connection blocks. They are quite
expensive and their ID:OD ratio is not much better than the plastic
ones.

If anyone wants to split a manufacturing run of either brass tees (good
luck finding a manufacturer) I would be interested. Value Plastic will
also make custom designs and they are not that unreasonable as they use
multi-part molds and will only charge for the modifications. They will
also run the parts in a shared mold with other parts so you do not have
to pay for many cavities or long production times. Still it would cost
a thousand dollars or more for mold cost and setup. Again, I would be
interested in sharing a production run.

Best regards,
