"Jingle Bells" Roll Recutting Project
By Bryan Cather

Seeing the post about recutting "a great 4-hand arrangement" of
"Jingle Bells" reminds me of one roll in my collection. It has
to be one of the _worst_ Christmas rolls on record!

I am generally not one to throw away playable rolls, but honestly,
the only things saving this roll from the dumpster is the holly-print
box, and the fact that it's so bad it's funny. It's a version of
"Silent Night" put out by US Music that is played in the style of
a late 19-century Eastern European waltz -- truly hideous, yet
laughable. It plods along mercilessly; you can almost imagine some
Czech street band with overblown tubas and a huge, thumping bass drum
providing the bass and God-knows-what (squeaky clarinets and piccolo
trumpets, perhaps?) playing the melody. Like I said, its so bad its
funny...
