Casters for Player Pianos
By Damon Atchison

I need to buy casters for my 1921 Chickering Ampico upright and
I was told there are different types of piano casters. It will be hard
enough to get help to flip the piano over, to put on the casters, so
I'm going to order new casters without inspecting the old ones first.

I'm considering Schaff No. 589, which is held on with four screws,
over the Schaff 4588 which has a long piece that inserts into the
piano. I'm also looking at Darnell No. 592. Which is better on all
surfaces and which is more durable, cast iron wheels or rubber?
