FS: CDs of Band Organs at Tilden Park, Berkeley
By A. B. Bonds

I have finished getting the old tapes I have of the Tilden Park organs
onto CD. There are four disks of the large B.A.B. organ, each at least
70 minutes with 28-30 tunes (three 10-tune rolls). There is one disk
of the small organ, 19 tunes, 45 minutes.

Each disk comes with a tune sheet, at least as far as what I have
information on. As volunteers can fill in the blanks, I will forward
new tune sheets via e-mail Word attachments. Sorry, no fancy labels.

The recordings (in my opinion) sound quite good, though they have the
usual noise with live recordings, including giggling kids and the
carousel bell. Ain't that what it is all about?

Disk 1 is from 3/77 and 5/77. The organ is in good voice, though the
snare drum was weak in the first session. Disk 2 is 5/77 and 9/77.
In the latter session it has some flat pipes. Disk 3 is 2/78 and 4/80.
First session is still a little flat, in the second session the covers
were off the machine for maintenance. It's more or less in tune, but
_very_ 'in your face'. If you like loud, you will be thrilled.

Disk 4 is 4/80 and 6/80, again the covers were off. Disk 5 is the
small organ, date unknown. It is in good voice, there is some audio
phasing as the kids and critters go whizzing by.

Disks will be $3.00 each, postpaid. You may pick and choose as you
like. After the first disk I will donate half the proceeds to MMD.
Sorry, I don't do enough business to warrant PayPal, payment by cash,
check or money order to address below. I will not hold checks for
clearance, but it may take a day or three to burn your order.
