Ruth 38 Fairground Organ at Myrtle Beach, SC
By Bruce Pier

The organ is located at the Pavilion Amusement Park. To the best
of my knowledge it is playable, and is used when the park is open
(it's shuttered during the winter months).

There is a move afoot to tear down Pavilion and replace it with
a "multi-use" facility. The city fathers feel (erroneously, in my
belief) that such a development would draw more tourists to Myrtle
Beach during the off season. So far most of the proposed developers
have bowed out, while the last one is under investigation for giving
fraudulent information. It may be a few years before anything
actually starts moving, if at all.
