Roll-Playing Electronic Player Organs: Kimball
By Harold Whipps Sr.

Mike is right about QRS cutting the rolls, but there were three colored
boxes. They also came in a brown box. The dealer I worked for never
sold the Model 700 series so I've never seen one.

My Model 500 uses tubes for the oscillators and transistors for the
dividers. The pneumatics are hooked to the keys by use of a keychain.
My player works except for the roll tracking pneumatic. The earlier
models had no tracking. You had to pay attention when playing a roll
and adjust it manually. One can only assume that they had a lot of
customer complaints about it tearing their rolls.

When the dealer was displaying at the Ohio State Fair, we had a model
1200 sitting on a platform playing. It brought in a lot of prospective
customers. At the end, I was the one who sold it. I knew more about
it than the sales people.
