Recutting Music Rolls for Nickelodeons
By Don Teach

I have in the past I have had several nickelodeon rolls recut for
me to resell. I had over 100 different Wurlitzer APP rolls recut
and sold all of them. (I did not make a nickel on the project, by
the way). I have had A rolls and O rolls recut.

It disappoints me that someone will outbid me on eBay and never have
a scarce roll recut nor let me recut it. In some cases the winning
bidder will not even return my emails. There have been several
instances where some nice nickelodeon pianos have surfaced with the
eBay community. It is my hope that when I die all the junk I have
collected doesn't go to the dump or some collection known as a black
hole.

I have been thinking about offering recut rolls in the 8-to-the-inch
format. This would be Wurlitzer Harp rolls, Pianolin rolls, and some
B.A.B. North Tonawanda band organ rolls. Is there really enough interest
out there to warrant such an investment of time and money? If you
think you would be a customer for moderately priced 8-to-the-inch type
rolls then please contact me.

I wanted to recut H rolls and that project is still on go, but I need
original H rolls to copy. Good tunes on MSR rolls would even be nice.
I thought about Wurlitzer Pianino rolls but the response was too small
to consider recutting those rolls at the time.

There are now five people cutting nickelodeon rolls that I know. None
of them are cutting 8 to the inch at this time to my knowledge.
