Carousel Organs in New Orleans
By Dale Gunnar

I wonder if the organ on the 1906 Looff & Carmel merry-go-round
at the New Orleans City Park was saved, or lost to the flood?
If I recall correctly the MGR featured a snappy little rebuilt
Wurlitzer 105. The flood was reportedly only 2.2 feet deep at the
south end of the park; in my memory the organ stood on a raised
platform, so maybe it is above water. I once took a photo of the
organ but can't find it now.

I have read that the New Orleans Zoo installed a carousel (since
the last time we were there). Does any one know if it has live
organ music?
